Jude Law assures that Sherlock Holmes 3 is still in the works, but when?

In 2009, two of the most box-office successful actors of the time, Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, joined Guy Ritchie to create the most daring and fun version of Sherlock Holmes. It was such a success that, two years later, its sequel arrived, which even surpassed the earnings of the first. But since then, we have been anxiously waiting for a third part that seems to never arrive.

Despite the fact that it has been said multiple times that Ritchie and the protagonists would return for a third part, they have not yet decided on it… and after thirteen years, everything seemed to indicate that we would never see it. However, in an interview with Law for The Playlist, the actor has confirmed that we could very soon have news about it.

Yes but no, no but yes

“There is a great willingness to do it,” explains the actor. “And a great willingness among all of us to do it right, to find the time and to find the right team. The best thing I took from both movies is my friendship with Robert [Downey Jr.] and his wife Susan, they mean a lot to me. We hope that we can still do it. I think there is a new version of the script that I haven’t read yet. And then there’s the case of ‘How much does it cost? Can we do it?'”.
