Kia’s compact electric SUV, the EV3, continues to solidify its position as a top performer in the electric vehicle (EV) market, particularly in Europe and Korea.
In March, the EV3 was the best-selling EV in Korea, contributing significantly to Kia’s overall success by accounting for 64% of the automaker’s total EV sales in Europe during the first quarter of this year.
Specifically, Kia sold 27,761 EVs across Europe, marking a 17% increase from the previous record set in the third quarter of 2023, with 17,878 units of the EV3 alone.
Kia Plans to Launch EV4 in North America with Tesla Supercharger Access
The question on many American consumers’ minds is when the EV3 will make its North American debut. Recent sightings of the EV3 testing on U.S. streets suggest that the wait may soon be over.
Minor design updates, such as orange side reflectors, have been observed, which seem to be implemented to comply with local regulations. Although Kia has not confirmed the exact release date, sources speculate that the EV3 may launch in the U.S. by late 2025 or early 2026, with anticipated pricing between $35,000 and $40,000.
In addition to the EV3, Kia plans to introduce the EV4 to the North American market next year. This model will come equipped with a built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, allowing access to Tesla Supercharger stations, and is expected to offer a driving range of up to 330 miles. As with the EV3, the pricing for the EV4 is also projected to fall within the $35,000 to $40,000 range.
As the automotive industry pushes towards electrification, Kia’s strategic focus on these models may play a crucial role in its competitiveness in the EV market across North America.
