Has Las Vegas been invaded by giant consoles and controllers? No, it’s an advertising campaign

The Las Vegas Sphere project was completed in September this year and opened as an entertainment venue with a performance by Irish band U2.

The day when Orson Welles narrated H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds feels like a long time ago (not to be confused with the journalist and Hollywood director of the same name as the English writer). However, if the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas had existed during Welles’ time, the situation would have been even more critical.

Xbox has done everything possible to launch its new campaign “Power Your Dreams”. To do this, they have rented the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, projecting some iconic and incredible images of their games and hardware on an absolutely ridiculous scale.

In case you missed it, the Las Vegas Sphere project was completed in September of this year and was inaugurated as an entertainment venue with a performance by the Irish band U2. And now Xbox has decided to flex its financial muscle.

A giant sphere that costs almost half a million dollars per day to rent

The sphere features a surround interior LED screen with a resolution of 16,000 pixels, speakers with beamforming and wave field synthesis technologies, and 4D physical effects inside.

It also has 54,000 square meters of exterior LED screens that can be used for stunning 3D art showcases and marketing displays, like the one shown below:

It seems that Xbox is in the midst of promoting its services, especially its flagship service, Game Pass. Otherwise, we wouldn’t understand why, in addition to renting the giant sphere, they came up with an absolutely stunning ad yesterday with the same theme: Power Your Dreams.
