EA’s 10-year Star Wars exclusivity deal ended in 2023, and Lucasfilm didn’t waste much time changing course. The games strategy is now wider, with room for big AAA productions and smaller AA projects too. Douglas Reilly says Lucasfilm Games wants to work with both large and small studios. You can already see that shift in Bit Reactor’s Zero Company and Fuse Games’ Galactic Racer, and it also tells you where the slate is headed next: Star Wars Eclipse, the Knights of the Old Republic remake, and a third Star Wars Jedi game are all part of that picture.
EA’s stretch with the license gave players Star Wars Jedi and Star Wars Battlefront. Now, though, Reilly is talking about a broader mix of partners, which opens the door to more action games, RPGs, strategy titles, and even racing games.
The clearest proof so far is in the numbers. Bit Reactor’s Zero Company sold more than 1 million copies in its first month in August 2026 and brought in roughly $50 million, with nearly 70% of those sales coming through Steam. Fuse Games’ Galactic Racer had its own strong launch, topping Steam’s Top Sellers chart in October 2026 with more than 100,000 copies sold and about $4.4 million in first-week revenue.
If you play Star Wars games regularly, this is a shift to keep an eye on. Analysts and journalists have mostly responded well to it. Coverage is still largely in English, though, and sales still lean heavily toward North America and Europe. Zero Company is a good example of that imbalance, with less than 5% of its players in Asia.
So the lineup ahead looks busy. You can expect Star Wars Eclipse, the Knights of the Old Republic remake from Saber Interactive, a third Star Wars Jedi game from Respawn Entertainment, and Arcanaut Studios’ RPG Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic on PC and consoles.
