When Game of Thrones ended, seven years ago now, good old Arya wrapped up her adventures by, setting off on more of them, aboard a ship and looking for new horizons. And, although everyone thought Jon Snow should have his own spin-off, for a while now fans have been wondering what happened to the youngest of the Starks. But for now, no one has told the actress who plays her.
Song of miscommunication and sequels
A few days ago news broke that HBO Max was going to continue her adventures with a series set in Essos. Maisie Williams, for her part, found out, like everyone else, through the press. “I saw it too! I was like, ‘Huh?’. I honestly have no idea”. However, she does have some advice for the writers in case they really are making this sequel: she is already 29 years old and no longer a child.
“It’d have to be developed somehow because I’ve changed a lot, and I think that what people loved about Arya was that she was always a child doing adult things”. The only problem is that, quite simply, George RR Martin hasn’t written anything about the future of the youngest Stark and it would be pure fan fiction, but hey, there are some fantastic fanfic stories!
For now, House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be joined by an Aegon the Conqueror film, and HBO Max will probably start planning something else soon to soften the blow of the end of its first spin-off. In short, there’ll be thrones for a long time yet.
