Introducing Adobe Firefly: The AI Assistant That Will Transform Your Design Process

Adobe has announced the launch of Adobe Firefly, a new family of generative models based on artificial intelligence.

Despite the strong opposition shown by many users (mostly artists and creatives), generative AIs are here to stay, whether we want them to or not. It has been almost a year since the presentation of DALL-E, which marked the beginning of the fever for generative artificial intelligences. All the major companies have joined the wave: ChatGPT, Microsoft‘s launch of the new Bing, Google Bard, the recently announced Copilot, etc.

Now, another major company has decided to join the group: Adobe. The US software company has announced the launch of Adobe Firefly, a new family of generative models based on artificial intelligence. According to Adobe, this will make the suites more accessible than ever to the more “casual” public.

Adobe Firefly, an ethical generator

This is how it is presented on Adobe’s official website: “Experiment, imagine and realize an infinite range of creations with Firefly, a family of creative models with generative AI coming to Adobe products”. Firefly is in beta right now and as with Midjourney or DALL-E, we can use colloquial language to describe what kind of content we want to generate.

For Adobe this would not be the first foray into the world of artificial intelligence: last year, the company already allowed AI-generated images to be sold on Adobe Stock. It has also been working for several years with Adobe Sensei, a platform dedicated to optimizing large amounts of content.

Despite being in beta version, it will not be long before we see Firefly in other services of the company. In fact, we already know the first applications that will integrate these features: Adobe Express, Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Adobe has years of history behind it and remains to this day the right-hand man for many creatives. That’s why Firefly works under ethical parameters to protect artists’ works. To do this, it has been trained with the images that we can see in Adobe Stock, which means that it does not use content with intellectual property. If you are interested in participating in the beta, you can do it from this link.
