Neura has opened what it calls a “robogym” in Munich, where as many as 100 humanoid robots spend their time picking up car parts, stacking boxes, and learning how much pressure to use on fragile objects like a glass. The whole setup is part of Neura’s effort to build real-world training data, the kind robots can’t just scrape from the internet. The idea is simple enough: run the same tasks over and over, add remote human guidance, and get humanoid robots ready for work in warehouses and factories.
China still has the lead. Interact Analysis says China has more than 90 humanoid data centers, while Europe has about 10, and one site in Beijing directs 100 robots with close to 200 instructors.
If you follow automation, keep an eye on this. Neura has reportedly raised as much as $1.4 billion from Nvidia and Amazon at a valuation of roughly $7 billion, and it’s not alone in the race. Boston Dynamics, Figure AI, Agility Robotics, and Hexagon are pushing hard too.
There’s more coming. Neura already has a facility in Hangzhou, and the company says it wants to have five sites around the world by the end of next year.
Figure AI’s humanoid robots are already reaching BMW assembly lines, and Agility Robotics’ Digit is moving into logistics. Hyundai has ordered 25,000 Boston Dynamics Atlas robots. Humanoid robot prices run from about $16,000 to more than $100,000. Forecasts for the humanoid robotics market in 2050 keep moving higher. None of the hard questions have gone away, though: safety, privacy, accountability , job losses, and regulation are all still unsettled.

"en-US": "Jesús Pina follows what artificial intelligence is actually changing in the software people use every day, telling apart what already works from what is still only an announcement. What interests him is the practical effect: which tool saves real time, which one stops halfway and which one deserves a second look before you install it. He works daily with AI models inside Softonic's own editorial process, so he knows their limits fairly well.",
