No Rest for the Wicked does the unthinkable: it reduces its technical requirements.

The No Rest for the Wicked team doesn’t rest, addressing its major issues and, even more importantly, optimizing the game to the fullest.

One of the advantages of having early access is knowing that the game is not yet in its final form. For some games, especially those with many interconnected mechanics, this is a blessing. It allows them to polish something that might be impossible to do otherwise. And for players, it’s possible to see the evolution of a game from its primitive state, closer to a beta, to its final conclusion. Hopefully, at a reduced price.

No Rest for the Wicked is the new game from Moon Studios, creators of the Ori saga, released in early access on April 18th. Being a visual masterpiece with interesting mechanics, a mix of Diablo and Dark Souls, that doesn’t mean it didn’t have some small problems. Besides other not so small ones. But fortunately, they have already fixed the bulk of its most serious issues.

Since its launch, the game had a performance issue that was not optimal. Due to a memory leak, the game made excessive use of the CPU, causing it to run unstably on certain computers. It even became unplayable in some cases. Not only did they manage to fix it in the first two weeks, but it also helped them optimize resource consumption for both the CPU and the GPU. This has translated into an advantage for all players, not just those most affected by the memory leak.

Now, thanks to this optimization, the system requirements for No Rest for the Wicked have significantly decreased. Now, to play with the recommended settings, you only need an affordable graphics card and CPU to play at 1080P and 60fps, while originally a high-end graphics card and CPU were required.

In addition, the game has also received significant improvements in the latest major updates. With more inventory spaces, improvements in resource crafting, and adjustments to side missions, the game has gradually been solving the main problems it had in its early access release. That’s why we have no doubt that, when it is launched, No Rest for the Wicked will be one of the top candidates for game of the year. Because even now, it could already be.
