Peter Parker already knows what it’s like to die. And come back to life. And die again. Usually, in the same issue, or right after. In ‘The Infinity Gauntlet’ he is killed by Terraxia, Thanos’ lover, but at the end of the comic everything goes back to normal. In another comic, he dies in the explosion of a chemical plant but Death decides it’s not his time. In another one, he turns into a giant spider and dies, but a new Peter Parker emerges from within him. Well, you see the pattern.
Die, Peter, Die
Perhaps the most well-known is the one in which Doctor Octopus swapped bodies with him and left him to die trapped inside it while the archvillain went on to destroy his life. There were several issues of Octopus as Spider-man, but everything returned to normal in the end. And now, as Marvel itself announces, Spidey is going to face the eternal end again. Eight times.

In ‘The Eight Deaths of Spider-Man’, a ten-episode event written by Joe Kelly, we will see, perhaps not surprisingly, the death of Peter Parker, announced in a tagline (“Spiderman will return… and die”) in the new comic of the Moon Knight. With issue 1000 of ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ just around the corner, frankly, it doesn’t seem like they’re going to revolutionize the life of the arachnid like that, but at this point in Marvel, who knows.
