The Boys has become the flagship product of Amazon Prime Video. The series, starring the bitter rivals Butcher and Homelander, has become a success that already has spin-offs, continuations, and all kinds of interesting derivations. However, it will come to an end in its fifth season, and we have just seen the finale of the fourth.
The last episode of this fourth season couldn’t have been more epic. We have been able to see all kinds of action, death, and competition among the most dangerous heroes on Earth. But it has also served, as it could not be otherwise, to open the way to what will happen in the fifth and final season of the show, which promises to be spectacular.
An unexpected ending
After the official end of the final episode, The Boys left us with a post-credits scene where we can see the return of a captivating character. After witnessing the protagonist team being captured and Butcher lost on the road, we reach the final credits with the clarity that everything is about to change. But then comes the post-credits scene… and watch out for it.
In the real ending of the fourth season, we see Homelander (Antony Starr) alongside the new President of the United States, Calhoun (David Andrews). At that moment, we see that they are not alone in the room, but there is someone else: Soldier Boy. The villain played by Jensen Ackles had been missing since the end of season 3, and now he returns to meet with who we now know is his son.
But how will this family meeting go? Will they kill each other or will they stick together for this new infernal government? Either way, everything seems to indicate that the next season will be the perfect climax that the series needs.
