‘Scarlet Witch and Vision’ doesn’t end with ‘VisionQuest’: there’s another comic its writer needs to adapt

In 2010, Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung made a tiny bit of history at Marvel, though without realizing it: their comic The Children’s Crusade.

The story revealed that Wiccan and Speed were the reincarnations of Scarlet Witch’s children, and Magneto helped them find their mother… who was amnesiac, powerless, and engaged to Doctor Doom.

Take notes, because, as the writer of VisionQuest has said, that’s the path he’d like to take in the MCU.

Vision of the future

Terry Matalas has made it clear what he’d like to do next: the fourth series in the same saga after WandaVision, Agatha, of course, and VisionQuest: “I can’t talk about many things, but nothing would make me happier than to keep playing in the sandbox. Vision, Ultron, and the Maximoff family are part of my DNA now. They’re part of my heart”.

“Making The Children’s Crusade depends on Marvel’s higher-ups. Nothing would make me happier than doing something like that. I’d love to. As long as the rest of the family could be involved, and that can include Ultron. We’re not working on it, but I’d love to”.

Needless to say, ever since the first appearance of Wanda and Vision’s children, fans have asked again and again for her to get a happy ending (even after her apparent death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) with her two children.

First we’ll have to see how VisionQuest does in the ratings, since it will be Marvel’s last original live-action series for a while, until the newly announced Zodiac premieres in 2028.

Until then there’s time to think about the children.
