Alden Ehrenreich, the actor who played Han Solo in his eponymous 2018 film, has expressed that he does not completely rule out a return to the Star Wars universe. However, he clarifies that this return would only be possible under very specific circumstances. In a recent interview with Collider, Ehrenreich stated: “It would have to be really, really the right version”.

The Millennium Falcon is waiting its turn

Han Solo: A Star Wars Story received mixed reviews, achieving a 69% on Rotten Tomatoes, and is considered a box office failure, with estimated losses of approximately 76 million dollars. Despite this, the film directed by Ron Howard featured a notable cast that included Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Thandiwe Newton, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Since his foray into the galactic universe, Ehrenreich has maintained an active career, appearing in acclaimed films such as Oppenheimer and in the horror-comedy Cocaine Bear. He is currently promoting his new project, Weapons, which revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a group of children, where the actor plays a corrupt police officer.

Speaking about his experiences on the Han Solo set, Ehrenreich mentioned that the energy present in the work environment, although sometimes stressful, can be beneficial for acting. “Your job as an actor, in a way, is to use the energy that happens around you”, he commented. However, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe environment, stressing that “there are very few characters who are just having fun.”
