They sure are clever, aren’t they? The longer they make you wait for a new game from the franchises you love the most, the more excited you’ll be. That’s what happened with the new Okami, which hadn’t shown up on a console for 15 years, and with Onimusha Way of the Sword, which hadn’t had a new game on a console since 2006. And after seeing the enthusiastic reaction, Capcom has announced that it will revive dormant franchises.
A dinosaur crisis!
As they have stated, “in addition to regularly releasing major titles each year, Capcom is focusing on reviving dormant IPs that haven’t had a new title recently“. And if we take a look at their catalog, we have a good handful that we would like to see again with a new title, such as Ace Attorney, Final Fight, Ghost’n Goblins, Viewtiful Joe, and, of course, Dino Crisis.
There are many players waiting for a new title in the franchise, which was halted in 2003 with the release of Dino Crisis 3 for Xbox and, incomprehensibly, has not been revisited. The game was not well received, but enough years have passed to resurrect that franchise and finally give it the game it deserves. Dinosaur dreams are also worth living for, right?
