The second season of Frieren: The Last Farewell has temporarily paused its airing, a decision that has surprised many fans. The series, which has so far released five episodes, will return on February 27, interrupting its narrative due to the celebration of the Winter Olympics. The studio Madhouse, responsible for the production, made this announcement, accompanied by the reveal of a new promotional poster for the second half of the season, leaving followers with renewed expectations.
Come back to finish the journey
This second half of Frieren will address the ‘Revolte the Divine Arc’, where a new villain, Revolte, the leader of a group of demons who will challenge the main team, will be introduced, forcing them to refine their skills for the intense battles that await them. Unlike the first part of the season, which had a larger number of episodes, the second installment will consist of a total of 10 chapters, according to previews of the Blu-ray release.
Despite the pause, the anime has received very positive reviews, positioning itself as one of the favorites to be considered one of the best animes of 2026, competing with acclaimed titles like Jujutsu Kaisen and new productions like Sentenced to Be a Hero. However, the Frieren manga is on indefinite hold, although the universe continues to expand thanks to a lesser-known prequel and collaborations, such as the one made with Solo Leveling.
With this wait until the end of February, Frieren fans have reasons to be excited, looking forward to discovering how the narrative will unfold in the upcoming episodes and how they will face the new adversities posed by Revolte.
