Although Schofield emphasizes his preference for creating original projects, he admits that he would be excited about the possibility of exploring the Alien universe and has accumulated a collection of approximately 100 designs of extraterrestrial creatures created in Midjourney over the past two years.

However, the creative makes it clear that his participation in an Alien project would be conditioned on having total creative control over it, stating: “That is non-negotiable. I can’t make a great game unless it’s mine and I’m completely involved in it; then I’ll give you 130%”. This stance comes after his recent experience with The Callisto Protocol, which did not achieve the expected critical or financial success, leading Schofield to consider his future in the industry.

Even so, the future of an Alien game directed by Schofield is uncertain. In early July, he commented that he had decided to step away from a new horror project due to a lack of funding. “Maybe I have directed my last game,” he added, reflecting a feeling of disillusionment. The gaming community, which still remembers the impact of Alien: Isolation, eagerly awaits a new installment in the Alien universe, although so far, there are no confirmations that this will happen.
