Viral Culinary Catastrophe: The Meal Ticket That Exemplifies Gastro World Mishaps

One of the best-known foodie influencers is Pablo Cabezali, better known as Cenando Con Pablo, who has taken advantage of a tweet to cause controversy and flaunt… well, how much he likes caviar.

The world of foodies is a corner of the Internet as fascinating as it is terrifying, one that opens a thousand gates of hell to confront us with what is (quite literally) cooking in other parts of Spain, leaving us, accustomed to the daily menu and a Friday pizza, in awe of gastronomic marvels. One of the most renowned foodie influencers is Pablo Cabezali, better known as Cenando Con Pablo, who has taken to Twitter to spark controversy and flaunt… well, just how much he loves caviar.

And to drink, meatballs with caviar

“Today I had lunch at Restaurant Jondal in Ibiza, and the bill skyrocketed… watch out for the water at €10!!” the young man posted on his Twitter account. And one might gasp until they see what they consumed between the two people. Brace yourselves: Country Chicken, caviar-trimmed trikini, caviar-infused pasta, caviar-topped toast, caviar-laden burrata, a Black Forest cake (indeed, with caviar), clam with caviar, langoustine and caviar tartar, prawns with caviar, water, and as a bonus, a cheesecake. It’s a shame they ran out of caviar.

When you spend 926 euros on a meal for two people filled with caviar extravagance (the most expensive dish was the 260-euro Black Forest cake), the ten-euro water is inconsequential. At this point, it’s more surprising they didn’t sprinkle a bit of caviar in the water just to fit the theme. Naturally, the reactions on Twitter have not been slow to arrive.

“Do you know if they had caviar off the menu?”, “I missed the caviar, it’s a shame they didn’t have it on the menu,” “You should have had a salami sandwich on the beach”… Clearly, Cenando con Pablo is quite clever and has tried to stir up controversy in hopes that, since he’s paying for Twitter Blue, Elon Musk might throw some cash his way for generating a lot of interaction. Even if it’s just to help cover a portion of the bill.

Interestingly, the media is reaching out to him to ask about the water, when perhaps they should be questioning the display of wealth. Either way, a hint: if you’re going to Ibiza to buy caviar, you’d better be sure about what you’re doing. Because the water is going to be the least of your problems, truthfully.
