Nested Lands is the new settlement simulator that promises to immerse players in a dark and brutal medieval world, ravaged by a plague that has left its mark in every corner of the landscape. Developed by the Brazilian studio 1M Bits Horde, the game is currently in an open alpha phase and is already available on Steam, allowing players to explore its mechanics and features before the final version.
Managing a medieval village is no easy task
In Nested Lands, players will have to build and defend their village from bandits and other dangers lurking in the hostile environment. The premise is based on assigning roles to the villagers, who will have to build buildings, create tools, and gather resources while seeking new settlers to join their cause. The third-person presentation offers a unique perspective, allowing players to interact more directly with the world they have built.
One of the most notable features of the game is its cooperative mode, which allows up to four players to join forces to face the challenges of the settlement. “Prepare for the bandit raids,” warns the development team in a press release. “Reinforce the village and, most importantly, survive the plague,” they add, emphasizing the atmosphere of tension and danger that permeates the game.
The open alpha offers between 3 to 4 hours of gameplay, designed to evaluate how players expand and manage their settlement. It is important to note that this is just the first iteration of the game, with more content planned for the future. With thematic similarities to Gord, released in 2023, Nested Lands differentiates itself in its gameplay approach and perspective, offering a renewed experience in the settlement simulation genre. And if you want something more relaxed, we can also offer you the chance to brew your own beer.
