GTA 5 had an incredible MOD but right now is no more

Take-Two continues to go after GTA 5 mod creators, this time taking down the most popular mod of recent times.

By now, it should come as no surprise that Take-Two is not a fan of mods. Anything that threatens their intellectual property is something they frown upon, and they don’t hesitate to send their lawyers in that direction. This sentiment was echoed by the community this week when a scenario of recreating GTA 5’s map in Fortnite was not publicly released, and now, it has been proven true. Creating mods for GTA 5 can now be considered a risky endeavor.

Just a week ago, a creator named Bloc released a mod called “Sentient Streets.” This mod allowed players to interact with NPCs through their microphone, as over twenty different AI entities enabled real-time responses. Each NPC had a distinct personality and responded with varying tones based on player behavior and the situation. Despite the typical limitations of such mods — where characters don’t contribute much to the narrative beyond making them feel more human — this mod had been gaining popularity over the past few days.

This prompted Take-Two to take action, sending multiple copyright claims to Bloc’s channels on both YouTube and NexusMods. As a result, the creator himself decided to remove the mod and all related content, fearing more drastic actions from Take-Two.

In an update on his YouTube channel, Bloc wrote, “YouTube removed the videos immediately without giving me a chance to explain,” and “at this time, the Nexus Mods version has been taken down due to a DMCA takedown request by Take-Two Interactive.” This led him to take similar action with the GTA5 Mods version, aiming to avoid potential legal issues. After all, the YouTube claim could result in his channel being demonetized for three months.

In response to all of this, Bloc has understandably expressed his frustration. He stated that “instead of going after small mods, they should focus on creating decent remakes with better pricing policies.” He pointed out how Rockstar Games itself stated in 2022 that “we have always believed in fans’ reasonable creativity and want creators to showcase their passion for our games.” As Bloc rightly highlights, this sentiment doesn’t seem to be reflected in their constant legal attacks against anyone who stands out even a bit in the GTA 5 modding scene.

Crazy Combo: GTA Meets Fortnite in an Unexpected and Wild Idea

A Japanese user thought it would be fun to recreate GTAV on a map for Fortnite, and he did, but we'll never get to play it.

The world of video games proves that there’s nothing more untrue than the notion that people wouldn’t work if not compelled to. Countless individuals invest absurd amounts of time creating mods, levels, and recreations for their video games completely free of charge, without expecting anything in return. Simply for the joy of doing it. And perhaps the most surprising recent example is someone deciding to create a video game within another video game.

In a truly remarkable feat, ka2aki86 has embarked on the ambitious project of recreating GTA V within the realm of Fortnite. Harnessing the power of available user tools, specifically Creative 2.0 and the UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite), this ingenious gamer has brought Los Santos to life from start to finish on a fully playable map, all within the vibrant and pop-style world of Fortnite. While the result is a colorful and unmistakably recognizable rendition of Los Santos, it’s also an experience that will unfortunately remain out of reach.

Despite the map’s undeniable playability—as evidenced by ka2aki86’s video demonstration—the creator has chosen not to release it to the community. This decision isn’t driven by selfishness, but rather a legitimate fear of legal repercussions from Take-Two Interactive’s legal team. Take-Two Interactive is notorious for aggressively addressing any and all community efforts related to their game, even when those endeavors are in favor of the game itself.

That’s why, unfortunately, this project will have the same fate as other previous ones, like videotechx’s. A user who ported Michael de Santa’s mansion into Fortnite using the UEFN, but never released it to the rest of the users for the exact same reason.

Hence, even though it’s true that the community is tireless and their work commendable, the work of Take-Two Interactive’s lawyers is even more so. And until they have more leeway with this kind of minor copyright infringement, we won’t be able to enjoy these authentic fantasies.

GTA 6 Leak offers confirmation about the city we always suspect

GTA 6 is shown in a new leak, this time showing a police chase in which the protagonist tries to escape from the forces of law.

We are all eagerly awaiting the release of GTA 6. Even without a specific date, we are all hoping it will come out around 2024 or 2025. That doesn’t mean that things aren’t gradually coming to light. After all, last year a generous amount of gameplay footage from the game leaked online, which, although in a very early state, allowed us to have a first glimpse of the most anticipated game of all time. Of course, Take-Two Interactive was quick to make it disappear, but almost a year later, it’s reappearing on the internet. And it shows us some very interesting things.

What does it show us? For example, police chases. With the female protagonist making an appearance, we can see in this short clip how she has to escape from two police cars chasing her closely, not letting her get away so easily. And

The original user is now banned

The user responsible for leaking all these small videos, which are packed with content—such as a party at a strip club or what appears to be the protagonist’s first hideout—is seeing most of them being taken down from X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, due to copyright claims. This gives legitimacy to the leak, making it seem genuine, although we should exercise caution. Take-Two Interactive might be taking action due to this person’s association with them using the username RockstarGTAVI, and they could consider it as spreading false information. This user is banned now, but we have the screenshot

Whether true or not, this is something yet to be confirmed, and we must remember something important: this is a very early version of the game. GTA VI will look significantly different, and likely better, than what we see in these videos. Therefore, we shouldn’t worry if it doesn’t meet our expectations. Or if we haven’t yet seen all the things that the developers have already confirmed will be included.

Waiting for the news about GTA 6

With that said, it’s expected that GTA 6 will be released sometime in the next year or the following year for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. There are rumors suggesting that it will be showcased at some point during this fall, and if that happens, a 2024 release can be anticipated. Historically, there has been a short time between the announcement of GTA games and their release. Either way, only time will tell what will happen with this highly anticipated game.

With a gripping storyline, revolutionary gameplay, and an open-world full of possibilities, this title has captivated millions of players worldwide, and even today, many people still enjoy it, discovering secrets.

While there are players who have completed the campaign and remained loyal to this title for years, one player has taken his passion for GTA: San Andreas to another level.

20 years to achieve a milestone

A user set out to complete the game’s toughest challenge, which involves completing all side missions, especially those from C.J.’s Diving School.

One of these incredibly difficult objectives is called “City Slicking,” part of the questline from C.J.’s Diving School. To complete it, you must travel a long distance from one point to another in San Fierro without damaging the car at all and in under 1 minute and 40 seconds.

And we are pleased to say that after two decades, the user has successfully completed all the side missions.

At first glance, it may seem simple, but the reality is that it’s an absolute nightmare, as you have to drive at breakneck speed while avoiding running over pedestrians, hitting traffic lights, and colliding with NPCs’ vehicles.

Many players have spent years trying to overcome this mission without success. Some have chosen to ignore it or use cheats to make the task easier, but there are others who haven’t given up and persevered until they achieved it.

One such player is Reddit user Helinze, who shared their feat with the community, proud to have completed the “City Slicking” mission after almost 20 years of trying.

Helinze has posted an image showing the “New Record” and 100% completion of the mission, confirming that they achieved it without damaging the car and without using cheats to repair the vehicle, as commonly done in GTA 5.

According to their explanation, they have been playing GTA: San Andreas since its release in 2004, but this particular mission was the only one left for them to complete. Congratulations, you did it!
