Oscar Isaac, known for his role as Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, has recently caused a stir by expressing his regret over previous statements regarding his return to the saga. In 2019, the actor participated in The Rise of Skywalker, and in 2020, he seemed to dismiss any possibility of a return. However, in a new interview with GQ, Isaac revealed that his perception of the future has changed, suggesting an openness to the possibility of reprising his iconic role.

The conversation took place two days after Disney suspended Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show, a context that may have influenced the actor’s statements. Kimmel, amid controversy, made a joke that generated criticism, leading ABC and Disney to decide to pause his program. Although it is unclear whether Isaac maintains his stance regarding a future in the saga after the company’s rectification, he made it clear that he feels bad about what he said in the past.
“It was a very nice statement. My God. You know, people ask you things, you answer, without thinking too much. I said something a bit rude,” commented Isaac, referring to his previous comments. He also recalled that five years ago he expressed his desire to make more artisanal films, but his vision has evolved since then, which adds another dimension to his possible future decisions in the film world.
With these statements, the interest in seeing Poe Dameron on screen again is gaining momentum. Although no concrete projects have been announced yet, fans of the Star Wars universe can be excited about the possibility of Isaac reconsidering his return to a galaxy far, far away.
