Developer Mike Klubnika, known for his successful multiplayer game Buckshot Roulette, has revealed his next project titled Machine Party. This new title has been described as a “horror Mario Party,” where party games take on a twist of extreme violence, promising to keep players on the edge of their seats.
It sounds crazy because it is
Machine Party is a collection of party games that involve high-stakes challenges, where losing can result in lethal consequences. According to the official description on Steam, the goal is to prove that one’s life is more valuable than that of one’s friends, which presents a disturbing and macabre approach to competition among players.
With the possibility of forming a group of 2 to 4 players, Machine Party offers countless ways to betray friends, with an emphasis on violence. The challenges include unusual and grotesque activities such as competitively eating peas and smoking cigarettes at high speed, where losing often results in a “bullet to the face.” This dynamic is complemented by a low-polygon and grunge aesthetic, comparing it to the style of games like Twisted Metal and Mario Kart.
Klubnika has promised that there will be “frequent gore results” for losing in mini games, taking the gaming experience to a new extreme of playful horror. Although it is unknown if there will be a Mario Party-style board, the transparency of the proposal and its dark tone are clear. Machine Party is scheduled to be released in the third quarter of 2026, raising expectations for a proposal that could redefine the party game genre.
