A recent bug in Total War: Warhammer 3 has caused considerable unrest in the player community, as it has led factions like the Lizardmen and the Tomb Kings to stop being aggressive, significantly affecting their activity within the game. This issue originates from the way AI-controlled factions manage recruitment, resulting in inactivity when they unsuccessfully attempt to recruit specific units they need for their strategies.
A wild review bombing process
The situation has led many players to express their discontent through ‘review-bombing’ on Steam, in order to draw Creative Assembly’s attention. This strategy has proven effective in the past, when complaints about the DLC Shadows of Change prompted a public apology and changes in future content. However, the current results are concerning: positive reviews of the game have dropped from 81% in September to just 13% in early October, which has brought the overall rating of the game to a “Mixed” category and recently to “Mostly Negative”.
Creative Assembly has released an update that addresses the recruitment issue, but unfortunately, it has introduced a new inconvenience. Players who do not own the first two games in the series cannot access certain units added as “freeLC” in Total War: Warhammer 3. This new bug adds to the growing dissatisfaction caused by the lack of information about the DLC Tides of Torment, which has not yet been released.
The Total War community is therefore in a complex situation, where the lack of communication from the developers and ongoing issues have intensified complaints, leaving many fans questioning the future of the franchise.
