Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred has brought one of the most significant changes to the series: the ability to scale difficulty to levels much higher than previously seen. This has allowed players to face new challenges, as demonstrated by the streamer Mekuna, who leveled from 1 to 70 in approximately 17 hours, using a lightning-focused variant of the Blizzard skill to eliminate enemies at high speed. This new approach has changed the way players measure the power of their characters, especially with the introduction of new skill trees and an item crafting system.
An exaggerated difficulty
During her Twitch broadcast, Mekuna reached torment level 12, which contradicts Blizzard’s previous statements about the extreme difficulty of these new levels. Although the company had claimed that torment 12 would be “really difficult,” Mekuna’s achievement indicates that, while challenging, they are not insurmountable for well-built characters. Viewers were able to see how her skill setup generated a dazzling explosion of visual effects as she progressed towards the end of her gaming session.
However, it should be noted that, despite Mekuna’s success, Blizzard has introduced additional activities that can increase the difficulty beyond the established torment levels. This raises questions about how other players will be able to handle these additional challenges in the future. Game rankings are expected to be activated soon, allowing the community to verify which character setups have managed to overcome these new challenges.
With the promise of a scoring system in place and the revamped gameplay systems, players are eager to discover what absurdly powerful builds can emerge in this new era of Diablo 4. Meanwhile, the focus remains on how other classes, such as paladins and warlocks, will perform against these new additional contents.
