It happens four times a year and our wallet always trembles, what are we talking about? The Steam sales. This time, of course, it’s the summer sales, and there are so many games on sale that we’ve gotten a bit dizzy. To prevent you from getting dizzy, we have made a selection of eight games that you can’t miss with spectacular discounts and prices, trying to choose both well-known games and some hidden gems. Because there is something here that fits you and your budget for sure. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
For some time now, it seems that all action games have to be soulslike. The spirit of the classics is dead, and arcade sensations seem to have no place in our society. Except for the existence of Furi. The game by The Game Bakers is a frantic game that mixes the best of hack and slash, bullet hells, and action games to give us a brutal, difficult, and above all, very satisfying game. Moreover, you can now get it for a ridiculous €1.99. If you like action games, you can’t miss Furi.
There hasn’t been a Spanish game in 20 years that has made such an impact internationally as Blasphemous. And we are not surprised. Not only is it an excellent action platformer with beautiful pixel art, but its way of recreating the religious culture of our country is absolutely exquisite, sinister, and so strange and terrifying both inside and outside our borders. If you have never played it, now is your chance, because at this price you are almost stealing from The Game Kitchen, the Sevillians who made this game.
If you prefer games where the emphasis is on narrative, we have you covered as well. Because STEINS;GATE is considered not only one of the great visual novels in history but also one of the best science fiction and time travel stories ever written. Without wanting to venture into spoiler territory, the story begins when a self-proclaimed mad scientist discovers how to send emails to the past through his microwave. Something that will lead him to have to save the world in an absolutely masterful adventure lasting between 30 and 50 hours.
We would ask if you like RoboCop, but we know the answer. Everyone likes RoboCop. He is the only police officer who is unanimously liked by everyone, and there are very good reasons for that. Moreover, his latest video game, RoboCop: Rogue City, is an excellent AA shooter that makes us feel in the robotic skin of RoboCop: an unstoppable tank capable of crushing everything… and who cares about the well-being of the people of Detroit. At a ridiculous price, it is the perfect time to get it before the release of its DLC, more than inspired by the excellent The Raid and Dredd.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (5.99€ | -90%)
The best Marvel video game went by without much fanfare and it’s tremendously unfair. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is an adventure game that blends narrative, action, and platforming well into a fun, agile, and memorable package that is hard to forget. It’s not The Last of Us, no doubt about it, but it’s not far behind in terms of gameplay or narrative quality. And visually, it’s as spectacular as that one. So if you enjoy adventures with a cinematic touch and like the Marvel universe, there are much worse ways to spend 6 euros.
Many games are power fantasies, but only one fulfills the greatest power fantasy of most adults who have had to do a deep clean of a garage or storage room: having a pressure washer. That’s what PowerWash Simulator is about, the game of cleaning the dirtiest places you’ve ever seen with the most satisfying cleaning machines you’ve ever had in your hands. With the sequel already announced, but with a crazy amount of content already published, this is the perfect time to get the game. But be careful, it not only hooks you: it makes you want to try these beauties in reality as well.
One of the breakout games of the year has its first big juicy discount. All before officially launching, as it is still in early access. Schedule I is now cheaper than ever, receiving substantial monthly updates, promising what has made it popular: to give us the best drug lord simulator to date. Does it succeed? The truth is yes. And seeing that it hasn’t even officially launched yet, there probably isn’t a better time to get it than now.
To finish, we have to close with a game that has a good offer, even if it is substantially more expensive than the rest. One that is undeniably a masterpiece. Because Elden Ring is one of the best games of recent years. GOTY of 2022, its DLC is considered the GOTY of 2024, and it hasn’t aged a single day since its release. It is an absolute marvel and perhaps the best game from FromSoftware so far, which, if you haven’t played yet, now you have a perfect excuse to do so. Because that’s what Steam sales are about: sinking your teeth into these treats that we wouldn’t otherwise.
