The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 generation is now retro. We’re sorry to break it to you like this, but that’s the reality. That’s why we’re seeing so many remakes and remasters from that era. From Lollipop Chainsaw to Dead Rising, but it doesn’t end there – because another hidden gem from that era is coming back, with a remaster that claims to come straight from hell.
Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered will be released on October 31st for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. In addition to featuring all the original content, this remaster will have a new New Game+ mode, run at 4K 60fps, and include some quality of life improvements.
If you don’t know Shadows of the Damned, it’s the story of Garcia Hotspur, a man who must rescue his girlfriend after she is kidnapped by the clutches of hell itself. Directed in collaboration between Goichi Suda and Shinji Mikami, creators of No More Heroes and Resident Evil respectively, this action game has a true dream team behind it. The music is composed by Akira Yamaoka, from Silent Hill, and the enemy design was done by Q Hayashida, a mangaka known for Dorohedoro.
If you have never played Shadows of the Damned, this cult gem, you will be able to do so before the end of the year. And believe us: it will be worth the wait.
