The success of the Fallout series on Amazon has revitalized interest in the franchise, making it the number one priority for Bethesda. Todd Howard, director and executive producer of Bethesda Game Studios, has confirmed that the popularity of the series has attracted more players to previous titles, such as Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, who are looking to return to this post-apocalyptic world. According to Howard, player numbers for Fallout 4 have reached record highs since the premiere of the first season, highlighting the positive impact of the series on the community.
Literally no news at all about Fallout
Despite this renewed interest, Bethesda has a clear plan regarding its upcoming projects. Fallout 5 will be developed once The Elder Scrolls 6 is completed, a release that is not expected before 2033, due to the extensive development times of high-quality games. This waiting period has generated speculation and desires among fans to receive more Fallout content, whether through remasters, remakes, or spin-offs.
Howard, in a recent interview with IGN, avoided confirming or denying remastering projects like Fallout 3, although he mentioned that the surprise launch technique used with Oblivion Remastered has left them satisfied. “I love the moment you find out about the existence of a game,” Howard said, noting his interest in replicating that strategy.
Meanwhile, Fallout 76 will continue to receive new content, and recordings for the third season of the series will begin in 2026, with episodes expected in 2027. The gaming community remains eager for the possibility of more announcements regarding remasters or new installments, while the future of the Fallout saga continues to be a hot topic in the video game industry.

Sony is increasingly betting on synergies. It’s no secret. Its two major battlefields right now are anime and video games, and its idea is to exploit them as closely as possible, especially after seeing how well its major video game IPs can perform when brought to the big screen. Something it has only done so far with live-action films.
Because all the movies based on Sony’s major video games have been successful. Perhaps not among critics and certainly not among fans of these IPs, but they have managed to perform in what matters most to executives: making good box office numbers. This is also true for their latest approach, which, while not the best movie of 2025, is quite better than its also recent remake. We are talking about the film adaptation of Until Dawn.
A movie that has successfully adapted the video game
Adapting the 2015 video game by Supermassive Games, the original already had everything to be a movie. After all, Until Dawn put us in the shoes of eight young adults who went on vacation to the Blackwood Mountains where, due to various circumstances, they found themselves being pursued by a serial killer. Closely following the premises of slasher horror films, the game made us make decisions that ultimately led to the survival or death of our characters, in a butterfly effect that changed the game based on what we decided to do at any given moment.
While its non-linear format and the possibility that several, all, or none of the characters survive do not fit well with cinema, the fact that it is heavily inspired by horror films from the 70s and 80s does. This is something that can be seen in the movie.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, the director of the two Shazam movies and Annabelle: Creation, the film starts from the same premise as the original video game, with a twist to justify everything that happens in it. We won’t reveal it here, as we want to avoid spoilers, but it is a very clever way to justify the constant loops of the original game and explains everything that happens up to this point in the movie, giving it a very unique style and a somewhat different feel compared to other contemporary horror films.
Costing only 15 million dollars, the movie was a fairly modest success. Grossing 54 million at the box office, the film performed especially well in the United States and Canada, demonstrating that it remains the main territory for this type of films.
Unfortunately for Sony, the movie was a bit of a disaster in terms of critical reception and public opinion. With a 52% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 47 on Metacritic, the movie is rated worse than well. And considering it received a C+ on CinemaScore on a scale from A+ to F and a 63% positive rating on PostTrak from the audience, it doesn’t seem like a movie that will receive approval for a sequel. Even if, for a part of the audience that includes us, it is an enjoyable movie under the right conditions: a silly afternoon with plenty of popcorn and a good soda.
Moreover, it’s easy for you to get it. Now more than ever. The movie is now available to watch on Movistar Plus+ and to rent on AppleTV, making it easier than ever to watch it on a lazy afternoon. And if you do it knowing what you’re in for, it could very well be a good afternoon.

Square Enix has confirmed the return of the popular Dissidia subseries with the announcement of Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, a new free-to-play mobile game set to launch in 2026. This installment will be available for Android and iOS platforms and will offer cooperative battles with teams of three iconic characters from the Final Fantasy series. The game will be set in a futuristic Tokyo, facing a crisis caused by negative energy that releases monsters, creating a narrative context that promises to engage players.
It is a completely new game from the franchise
The closed beta of the game will take place from November 6 to 14, allowing players to test the game dynamics and provide crucial feedback to improve the experience. This use of early testing indicates a clear approach by Square Enix towards the gaming community, seeking to balance the pace of the game and other mechanics.
Despite the enthusiasm for the return of the Dissidia brand, the decision to launch a mobile game has left some fans disappointed. Many were hoping for a remaster of Dissidia Duodecim, which generated criticism about the direction the franchise has taken. However, the developers have promised that the controls will be optimized for one-handed play, designed to enhance the experience on mobile devices.
Among the characters that can be selected are iconic figures such as Cloud, Rinoa, and Lightning, which will surely attract both new players and veterans of the saga. At the end of the battles, the heroes will have the opportunity to integrate into the daily life of Tokyo, highlighting a more narrative and personal approach to the game’s story.

The Devils, an adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s book, is considered a cursed masterpiece, notable for its exploration of religion, violence, and sexuality, which earned it an X rating after its release.
A movie with reasons not to see the light
The story narrates the historical case of demonic possession in Loudun, where a priest, Urbain Grandier, was accused of witchcraft and executed in the 17th century. With memorable performances by Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave, the film has been subject to censorship and controversy for over five decades. Warner Bros. maintained an edited version for years, excluding key scenes, including a notable controversy related to a scene of the violation of Christ, which put an end to any expectations of a full release for a long time.
Despite its difficulties, the efforts to restore The Demons have been ongoing. From a significant restoration in 2004 to its recent inclusion on platforms like Filmin and Criterion, cinephiles can access this cult work like never before. However, there is still a long way to go; critics like Guillermo del Toro have pointed out that there are “factual powers at Warner Bros.” that obstruct its availability in more common formats like DVD and Blu-ray in North America.
The evolution of the status of The Devils personifies the complexity of cinema as a reflection of society, addressing themes of power and censorship. Although its full projection is still limited, the film remains a testament to the bold creative spirit of Ken Russell.

Nightdive Studios has announced the release of Outlaws + Handful of Missions Remaster, a revamped version of the classic title from 1997, scheduled for later this year. This remaster promises to offer a series of significant improvements, including 4K resolution, frame rates of up to 120, gamepad support, and four multiplayer modes. Among these modes is Kill The Fool With The Chicken, which adds a fun twist to the multiplayer experience.
A different shooter in an era where everything was possible
Outlaws, despite its ambition to recreate an authentic old west environment, did not enjoy the same popularity as other shooters of its time, such as Duke Nukem 3D. Released in a post-Quake setting, it received mixed reviews and was quickly overshadowed by other titles that dominated the market. However, it is recognized for being a pioneer in introducing innovative features, such as a scope that allowed for effective zooming and weapon reloading, as well as cutscene animations that were rare in shooters of the 1990s.
Despite the fact that many players do not remember Outlaws positively, it is undeniable that the title clashed with a very competitive FPS landscape. However, Nightdive’s fleet of remasterings, which has revitalized games that were not well received at the time, such as Heretic and Hexen, promises a renewed experience. Those who once struggled to enjoy this shooter at its launch will now have the opportunity to reconsider its legacy more than 20 years later.
With each new piece of information about the remastering of Outlaws, fans and new players are increasingly intrigued to revisit this forgotten gem and see how it has evolved thanks to the modernization that Nightdive will provide. Anticipation grows as the release of a game that, although not fondly remembered, has the potential to offer a nostalgic and fun experience is awaited.

The British actor Terence Stamp passed away last Sunday morning at the age of 87, his family confirmed. Stamp was an iconic figure in the film industry since the 1960s, known for his memorable portrayal of General Zod in the Superman films of 1978 and 1980, alongside Christopher Reeve.
Terence Stamp was always a great actor
Throughout his distinguished career, Stamp also ventured into the world of video games, where he lent his voice to iconic characters. His performance as Mankar Camoran in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion solidified him among the most memorable voices in the medium, alongside other actors like Sir Patrick Stewart and Sean Bean. This performance will be revitalized in the upcoming Virtuous remaster of Oblivion and in the highly anticipated mod Skyblivion.
Born in 1938 into a working-class family in London, Stamp had a varied career and became a versatile actor, leaving his mark in many genres. In addition to his work in video games, he was in talks to reprise his role as Bernadette Bassenger in a sequel to The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, a role that had catapulted him to fame in the 1990s. His last appearance was in Edgar Wright’s film, Last Night in Soho, released in 2021.
The delivery of Stamp in Oblivion, although recorded in an unfamiliar environment for him, left a strong impression on the game’s fans. In the documentary The Making of Oblivion, you can see Stamp in the studio, delivering intense monologues and creating a memorable connection with his character. As Todd Howard, the series director, commented, his iconic line “Kneel before Zod!” had resonated in his childhood, contributing to Stamp’s enduring legend in popular culture.

For football lovers, there is no game that surpasses Football Manager. Neither FIFA nor PES offers the same experience as a game that allows you to take your favorite team and lead it to glory, managing it down to the smallest detail. Professionals use it to improve in their jobs, and in fact, its databases are so incredible that they are used to scout players in real life. Football Manager is an essential part of modern football, and yet, that has not prevented us from not having new releases in the last two years.
This has been a shame because, although we knew we weren’t going to have a release in 2024, it has always been an annual franchise. And the delay of the 2025 release has been a hard blow for the fans. With the 2026 release just announced, there is still quite a wait to be able to play the new iteration of the franchise, but that doesn’t mean fans have nothing to hold them over in the meantime.
A new Football Manager that is very old
Kevin Toms published a game called Kevin Toms Football Star Manager on August 14th on Steam, iOS, and Android. Basically, a remaster of the original Football Manager, released in 1982, and now available to play with updated graphics and UI. Not much. Just enough to be playable and enjoyable in 2025, but still faithful and consistent with what it was in 1982. Only with a different name, as although they have the exploitation rights of the game, the rights to the name are held by SEGA and Sports Interactive.
The game published in 1982 was a true engineering masterpiece written entirely in BASIC. Although the names of teams and players are real and in accordance with 1982, you always start in the fourth division and our goal is to get our team to the first division and compete and win the FA Cup.
From here on, everything is what we know about Football Manager. We must manage our players’ energy and morale, the values in each field of our players are compared to the values of the opposing players, and a relatively primitive representation of a football match is displayed on screen without us being able to do anything about it. That’s up to the players. What we can do is transfer players, manage finances, and even request loans, demonstrating that the foundations of everything we love about Football Manager are already present in this early version of the game.
Old, but new
Of course, Kevin Toms Football Star Manager takes some liberties. Originally released for PCs in 1982 and for 8-bit consoles, the graphics and UI were very basic. That’s why, as we mentioned, this re-release is closer to a new version of the original game, a remaster, that gives a slight graphical and mechanical update to the game. With stylized texts and visuals that are reminiscent of the 8-bit style, and with more customization options, the game feels like the original but is designed to be fully enjoyable by today’s standards.
The reason we haven’t had a Football Manager in 2024 or 2025 is that they are changing game engines, moving from their proprietary engine to Unity, but this has given Kevin Tom the opportunity to create this version of the original game. We should appreciate it for what it is: something very interesting and fun that we should take advantage of. And at not even 6 euros, what better way to spend the summer than with a bit of classic Football Manager?
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has swept this year for knowing how to channel the spirit of classic JRPGs and give them a contemporary twist and a high-budget project finish. Exactly what a whole nostalgic generation of the Final Fantasy from the first two PlayStations wants. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has taken the year by storm for knowing how to channel the spirit of classic JRPGs and give them a contemporary twist and a high-budget project finish. Exactly what a nostalgic generation of the Final Fantasy from the first two PlayStations wants. But many others, who grew up with JRPGs beyond the Final Fantasy of those two generations and who have not stopped playing the genre, feel that something is missing in the game. We miss it truly feeling like a JRPG.
Because JRPGs are more than turn-based battles, anime aesthetics, and stories about saving the world. In fact, they don’t have to be any of these things. Something that was masterfully demonstrated by a Belgian game in 2008 that couldn’t have a more peculiar name: Off.
One of the most interesting JRPGs of the 00s
Developed by Unproductive Fun Time, a team made up of two people, Mortis Ghost and Alias Conrad Coldwood, the game makes us control El Bateador, a man dressed like a baseball player with a single purpose: to purify the world. To do this, he will have to exterminate all the spirits he encounters along the way, but also those who command, produce, and control them. All with the aim of making the world pure again.
The game, since its release, became an obsession for certain online communities, especially those who love JRPGs that were on platforms like Tumblr. Although originally published in French, its translation into English allowed it to reach a wider audience, becoming one of the most popular games of its year.
Off was created in RPG Maker 2003 and was inspired by games like Final Fantasy, Silent Hill 2, or Killer 7, as well as the novel Ten Little Indians by Agatha Christie, which already suggests the particular strangeness of the game. But it can also make something evident: it is a game made without many resources and that, in not a few ways, can be difficult to play today. This is something that Fangamer has thought would be perfect for a remaster.
With Mortis Ghost at the helm, although without Alias Conrad Coldwood, this remaster of Off is the same game, but more polished. The combat now feels better and is more technical, the graphics are in high definition, and there is more optional content for those who played the original. The only substantial change is the soundtrack, which replaces the original with a new one composed for the occasion by Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale and Deltarune. Both games are heavily influenced by Off.
An example of what a remaster and a JRPG should be
This remaster respects the essence of the original, being the optimal way to play Off today. Perhaps the only Western JRPG that deserves to be called this way for anyone who is a lover of JRPGs due to the depth and interest of its battles and narrative.
Anyone who enjoys RPGs, experimental games, or works of art that play with the boundaries of what is real and what is fiction should play Off. A game full of subtleties, that constantly puts the player in uncomfortable and interesting situations, and that should not go unnoticed. Not in the year of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Because everything that is said about that one applies to Off as well, and even in a more genuine way. Because Off may be the best JRPG of its generation. And it’s not even Japanese.
