Sonic, besides being SEGA’s mascot, is the most recognizable video game character with a tumultuous history. He hasn’t had much luck with his games beyond the 8-bit era, struggling to find his footing. Although his recent games have performed very well, it’s true that he still needs to prove he can sustain that streak over time. Something that finally seems to be the case. And fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
Sonic Superstars made an appearance at Gamescom 2023’s Opening Night Live, showcasing a new trailer to reveal its multiplayer features. With local co-op for up to four players and an online battle mode, the game, in addition to its appealing visuals, seems to innovate upon the core formula of the franchise’s original games.
But the most important news is that the game has received a release date. Sonic Superstars will be released on October 17th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Making the final stretch of the year even more packed than it already was.
