SPYxFAMILY shows us the trailer for its new film, premiering at the end of the year, which promises a new adventure for the Forger family

Few anime series can boast of having such a resounding success as SPYxFAMILY. Having far surpassed the anime fan niche, it reached the general public long ago and continues to expand its influence among them. And it’s not surprising at all. It’s funny, fast-paced, and very heartwarming, addressing deep and human themes always with laughter and tenderness. That’s why it shouldn’t surprise us that its creators are looking to capitalize on the license as much as they can.

That’s why today we’ve received the first trailer for the new SPYxFAMILY movie. Titled SPYxFAMILY Code: White, this trailer shows us the first glimpses of the movie, where they have to make the headmaster’s favorite dish for Anya to win a cooking competition at Eden Academy. But nothing is ever that simple in this series, right? That’s because Loid is going to be replaced in the operation, something he aims to avoid through Anya’s victory. To achieve this, they’ll have to travel to the recipe’s region of origin, setting off a series of actions that will jeopardize world peace.

The trailer also allows us to hear the movie’s main theme for the first time. Titled “Soulsoup,” it is composed by the group Official HiGE DANDISM, who are no strangers to the series. They previously performed the song “Mixed Nuts,” the first opening theme of the anime’s first season.

For those unfamiliar with SpyxFamily, it’s a manga written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endou. It follows a spy codenamed Twilight, who is tasked with a crucial infiltration mission to maintain peace between two countries with a long history of conflict. To accomplish this, he forms a fake family to infiltrate a school. He adopts a girl named Anya, who is unaware of her psychic powers, and pretends to be married to a woman named Yor, who is a professional assassin.

The series has been adapted into an anime, currently in its second season, available for streaming on Crunchyroll. As for the movie, you’ll have to wait until December 22nd for its release in Japan. There’s no confirmed release date for Western audiences yet; it’s expected to be sometime in 2023.

“Spy x Family” adds an anime legend for its second season: the creator of Devilman Crybaby

SpyxFamily adds a great cult name to its cast, creator of Devilman Crybaby, and his name is none other than Masaaki Yuasa.

“Spy x Family” is one of the most anticipated series of the season, if not the entire year. Its first season was a breath of fresh air, and its second season promises to follow in its footsteps and take it even further, from all that we know so far. However, there were still a few things we didn’t know, such as who would be in charge of the opening for this second season. Not only are we pleasantly surprised by the choice: we are absolutely amazed.

Masaaki Yuasa is in charge of the opening for the second season of SpyxFamily. Yuasa is a cult anime director who has directed series such as Devilman Crybaby, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken, and movies like INU-OH or Mind Game, among many others. He is considered one of the most interesting directors in not only Japanese animation but also worldwide, due to his work with proportions in animation, psychedelic backgrounds, and the use of music as a narrative element. All of these aspects are inherited from his early career as an animator in children’s programs.

For the opening of SpyxFamily, a stylistic approach with evident punk and pop art influences has been chosen, combined with a focus on the manga origins of the work and a special emphasis on the movement and anatomy of the characters. The result is an absolutely spectacular minute-and-a-half piece, as adorable as it is fabulous, incorporating references to 1950s American cartoons, English psychedelia, and traditional anime.

If you’re eager to watch SpyxFamily, we regret to inform you that you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer. Specifically, until October 7th. The first season is available on Crunchyroll, and the second season will also be available on the same platform.

SPYxFAMILY returns with a spectacular trailer to motivate us ahead of the release of its second season

SPYxFAMILY, one of the most celebrated anime of recent years, returns with a trailer that makes us eager for its imminent premiere.

If television has shown us anything, it’s that the old cinephile adage that “sequels were never good” was never true. The number of series that truly take off in their second season, or that deliver an excellent second season after a very good first season, is greater than those that falter after doing well the first time. That’s why each new season of a series, whether live-action or, as in this case, anime, is usually a cause for celebration.

SPYxFAMILY returns on October 7th with its second season, and to celebrate, they have released a new trailer. Packed with family interactions, a date between Loid and Yor, and a glimpse at various episodes that hint at a broader plot to come, the trailer promises an even more intense season than the first, if that was even possible.

In terms of the specifics, there’s little to worry about. Kazuhiro Furahashi, Takahiro Harada, and Kazuaki Shimada are returning as director, assistant director, and character designer, respectively. The animation studios responsible for the show remain a collaboration between Wit Studio and CloverWorks, so we shouldn’t notice any difference in the quality of the anime or its direction and consistency. So, there’s nothing to worry about; everything is in its place.

What has changed is the opening and ending for each episode. This time, Ado will be handling the opening with her song “Kurakura,” and Vaundy with “Cory Wong” for the ending with the much more calm and silky “Todome no Ichigeki” to close out the episodes. It’s a perfect way to kick off this second season, which, even if it seemed impossible, looks even better than the first.

In Spain, you can watch SPYxFAMILY on Crunchyroll. However, at the time of this news publication, Crunchyroll has not officially announced the release date for the second season.
