The RPG that didn’t include a dating system… because the developers haven’t had any in real life

It seems like a parody story, but it’s totally real: there is a Japanese RPG in which the developers were eager to include a dating system, love, and heartbreak, but in the end, they decided not to do it due to lack of experience. Oops. It’s called Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children, which has been quite popular among genre fans for four years, but its developer, DandyLion, has already announced that he will not introduce the system in future updates.

It was after a review on Steam where a person only had one “but” about the game: “that there is no dating system with a waifu.” The developer then responded, “A dating system… It is a feature that many people wanted, but the members of my team… have no experience, even in real life. Thank you for this review.”

It is normal that if you work for hours in a country like Japan, finding a compatible partner becomes especially complicated. And hiring someone whose only differential experience is “I have a love life, unlike you” may not be fair to the rest of the candidates. If you were hoping that this vital update would come to Troubleshooter one day, tough luck: you’ll have to go back to Baldur’s Gate 3.
