Marvel fans are preparing to hear the news that a beloved character will be recast in an upcoming Avengers movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This recasting practice is not new for franchise followers, who have seen actors like Edward Norton replaced by Mark Ruffalo in the role of Hulk, or how Don Cheadle took over from Terrence Howard as James Rhodes, also known as War Machine.

A new character in the MCU, although not in Marvel

According to information from CBM.com, Jesse Plemons, known for his roles in Civil War and The Irishman, is being considered to portray Henry Philip McCoy, better known as Beast. This role has previously been played by Kelsey Grammer and Nicholas Hoult in earlier adaptations. The inclusion of X-Men characters in the MCU has been anticipated since Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox in 2019, and with this turn, fans are eager to see the iconic mutant figures come to life on the big screen. The first appearances of these characters were seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and they are expected to continue with the animated series X-Men ‘97, as well as Deadpool and Wolverine in 2024.

It has been mentioned that Plemons could debut as Beast in Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled to be released in May 2026, or in Avengers: Secret Wars, which will hit theaters in May 2027. Although this information has not yet been confirmed, rumors about his participation are generating considerable anticipation among fans, hopes that will hopefully be clarified in the coming months.

Before the epic battles of the Avengers, Thunderbolts* is expected to premiere in theaters on May 2, 2025, marking the conclusion of Phase 5 of the MCU and paving the way for new developments in Phase 6 with the anticipated Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are engaged in an intense debate about the possible return of Wanda Maximoff, known as the Scarlet Witch. Since her last appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda has been isolated and dealing with serious mental health issues, leaving her future in the franchise up in the air. Although her return has not yet been confirmed, many believe it’s only a matter of time before she rejoins the universe.

What are the reasons for its return? WandaVision

Wanda was part of the original Avengers team, but after the events of Endgame, her path has been more focused on her own personal development, especially after the events of WandaVision. Fans have divided opinions on whether she should return to the Avengers team or if she would find a place in a group related to the X-Men, such as the Brotherhood of Mutants. “I don’t think the point of WandaVision was for her to embark on a dark path and abandon the Avengers. Rather, it was about a complex transformation that, although it presents her with many challenges, still keeps her connected to her former family of heroes,” commented a user on Reddit.

Some suggest that it could be narratively effective if Wanda returns at a crucial moment, similar to Thor’s spectacular appearance during the battle of Wakanda. This presentation could allow her to redeem herself while maintaining an emotional distance due to her past actions. However, there are those who believe that Wanda deserves a break after everything she has endured throughout her stories, arguing that her best option would be to reintegrate into a group where she can find support and connection.

As fans continue to speculate, the next release in the MCU, Captain America: Brave New World, is scheduled for February 14, as part of Marvel’s Phase 5.

What if the Avengers had to face the xenomorphs? Marvel has made this a reality

Over the years, Alien has crossed over with every franchise you can imagine (except Predator, of course), including Batman, Vampirella, Judge Dredd, Green Lantern, Superman, Terminator, Fortnite, and Mortal Kombat. Xenomorphs, gather!

Aliens vs Avengers is written by Jonathan Hickman, one of the top creators in the comics world. He is working with artist is Esad Ribic, who has created some of the most iconic modern Marvel comics. There are four parts that will follow everyone’s favorite alien monsters as they roam Earth-616.

Looking at the future of the Marvel Universe in thirty years (which we readers will never see considering the slow passage of time in comics), we see the fall of Atlantis, Krakoa, and a world full of inhuman population. If you were expecting a simple comic where they would just face each other and end up in a tie, you’re out of luck: this is not the one you are looking for.

In fact, in this alternate future, only New York resists the aliens, protected by the elderly Bruce Banner and Captain Marvel. Quite a plan, right? Along the way, we will have Hulk crushing xenomorph heads with his own hands and a Facehugger fused with the symbiote and attaching to Miles Morales’ body (the only somewhat young member of this group). That’s how crossovers are made, frankly: with enthusiasm! … And a good writer in charge.
