One of the major changes in iOS 18 is the new Siri. A new Siri for which we have already come to terms with the idea that we will have to wait a bit longer. One of the major changes in iOS 18 is the new Siri. A new Siri for which we have already come to terms with the idea that we will have to wait a bit longer. And yet, now it seems that Apple might bring forward that release. According to the latest newsletter from Mark Gurman, the new Siri could start arriving earlier than expected, specifically with the release of iOS 18.3, instead of iOS 18.4 as initially thought.
A preview of about three months, it seems
Although not all changes to the new Siri are expected to be available in iOS 18.3, some key features could start to be implemented as early as January 2025. Traditionally, the .3 versions of iOS are usually released at the beginning of the year, which moves the expected date forward compared to spring, when the .4 versions of the systems are normally released.
As far as we know, the update schedule for iOS 18 will be as follows: iOS 18.1, which will bring the first waves of Apple Intelligence, will be available in mid-October. It will be followed by iOS 18.2 in December, with the arrival of features like Image Playground and integration with ChatGPT. Finally, iOS 18.3, expected in January, could be the first major step towards the new Siri.
It is worth highlighting that a new Siri will improve understanding of speech errors, enjoy deeper integration with other applications, and handle context and on-screen information more advanced. These changes will turn Siri into a truly personal assistant, so we will want to wait as little as possible for them.
