Recently, a remake of The Office was announced, the legendary sitcom starring Steve Carell that between 2005 and 2013 became an unparalleled comedy phenomenon. In fact, it is one of the most watched series every year on streaming platforms, and it has a growing legion of fans.
Perhaps for this reason, for the new The Office, NBC has decided that it will have a direct relationship with the previous one. This does not mean that it will be a literal continuation, but it will be set in the same universe and share the same foundations, as explained by Variety.

The Office… with journalists
The official synopsis they have revealed about the new series is as follows:
“The documentary team that immortalized the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin is searching for a new subject when they stumble upon a dying historic newspaper in the Midwest, and the editor tries to revive it with volunteer reporters.”

In this way, it seems that the new protagonists of The Office will be journalists… volunteers. As if we didn’t already have quirky characters in the previous series, now they want to raise the stakes. We’ll see how it all turns out, but it smells like both a hit and an immediate cancellation.
