Apple TV+ has quietly put The Savant back on the calendar. The eight-episode Jessica Chastain crime thriller is now tentatively set for spring 2027, after Apple postponed it on September 23, 2025, just three days before its planned September 26 debut.
That spring 2027 window isn’t firm yet. Still, it gives The Savant an actual path back after the summer 2026 chatter led nowhere, and it would keep the Apple TV+ series eligible for the 2027 Emmy Awards.
Apple never gave a full public explanation for the delay. The assumption, widely shared at the time, was that the postponement was tied to the September 10, 2025 assassination of Charlie Kirk, along with a story centered on domestic extremism, politically motivated violence, a sniper, and a bombing at a government building.
Chastain later made clear she didn’t agree with the decision. She said she was “not aligned” with pausing a series she felt had only become more urgent after January 6, school shootings, and Charlie Kirk’s killing.
Chastain stars as Jodi Goodwin, a wife and mother who secretly infiltrates hate groups online to stop attacks in the U.S. The miniseries is based on Andrea Stanley’s 2019 Cosmopolitan article and co-stars Pablo Schreiber, Nnamdi Asomugha, Dagmara Dominczyk, Jordana Spiro, and James Badge Dale.
