CD Projekt Red is still patching up The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered after the free upgrade went live on September 29, 2026. Players quickly started reporting launch issues across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. The update adds visual upgrades, performance tweaks, combat changes, and adjustments to the skill system, but more fixes are still coming. two hotfixes have already gone out, and they’ve solved at least some of the trouble on certain platforms.
On Switch 2, the loudest complaint so far is blurry image quality in handheld mode. That fix may take a little longer if you’re playing there, since Nintendo’s patch approval process can slow things down. Feedback highlighted by SwitchUp suggests CD Projekt Red knows about it.
Marcin Momot says the team is working on a fix for overly aggressive bloom on all platforms, and that should arrive in the next update. PS5 players have also been reporting performance issues. On PC, some players are seeing frame-rate drops, especially with NVIDIA Hairworks and path tracing turned on.
Pawel Sasko says the team is keeping an eye on incoming reports, and for now CD Projekt Red is telling PC players to disable NVIDIA Hairworks.
If you’re hoping for a full remaster, not just a visual refresh, it’s still probably worth picking up. CD Projekt Red’s hotfix notes say that two hotfixes already released on some platforms address save and load problems, audio bugs, overly dark interiors, DLSS issues on the PC Xbox Play Anywhere version, plus some more general fixes.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is on sale now for $59.99 or £45.99 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2.
