Amazon Prime Video has just announced all kinds of news in its catalog. From the renewal of The Boys for a fifth season to the first trailer of the second season of The Power Rings, the streaming platform has shown off, making it very clear that it is one of the most important ones at the moment.
Among other news, it has announced one that seems much more striking than the rest: it has just announced the return of the IP Tomb Raider with a new exclusive series. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the award-winning creator and star of Fleabag, will be in charge of writing and developing the series. It’s in good hands.
A golden era for Lara Croft
This unexpected revelation follows the initial announcement of a new Tomb Raider game developed by Crystal Dynamics and to be distributed by Amazon Games. According to reports, the new installment in the iconic video game series will be a “single-player narrative adventure that continues the story of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider series”. This implies more action, more puzzles, and more classic Lara dialogues.

Regarding the relationship between the game and the program, although currently there are few or no details about either of them, Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games, has stated that they are “separate stories about Lara Croft’s adventures“. This probably means that the program will follow a similar approach to the successful Fallout series, taking advantage of the rich world but not exactly replicating the game’s plot.
