Deadpool fans are likely quite thrilled right now. After much anticipation, the audience has finally been treated to the first official image of Deadpool 3. The Merc with a Mouth looks dashing alongside Hugh Jackman, who is also returning as Wolverine, one of Marvel’s most beloved characters.
At around 15:30 CEST today, Ryan Reynolds shared the image you see below via his Instagram account. In the picture, the Merc with a Mouth is accompanied by Wolverine, both wearing their classic costumes that we’ve seen countless times in comics.
Rumors about the possible return of the iconic yellow X-Men suit have been circulating for a while. In fact, we have seen it on the big screen before, as in ‘X-Men: First Class’. However, Wolverine leaves behind the realistic tone to embrace a version that is much more faithful to the comic book representation.
When will we see Deadpool 3?
Deadpool 3 has become one of the most highly anticipated superhero film releases of 2024, and for good reason. It has been a while since we last saw Wade Wilson on screen, with the last film released in 2018, and the audience eagerly awaits any news about this third installment. Furthermore, considering all that Marvel has in store with the multiverse, it is likely that Deadpool 3 will come with some surprises.
We already have some information about the film. Firstly, Deadpool 3 will be the first Marvel movie with an R rating. There will also be various cameos, including Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios (remember the infamous Daredevil film starring Ben Affleck?). Additionally, there have been speculations about the possible appearance of Magneto and Charles Xavier, portrayed by Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart respectively (Stewart already made an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).
Regardless, we will have to wait until May 3, 2024, to see what Deadpool 3 has in store for us.
