The final episode of Stranger Things promises to be a cinematic event, as its duration will reach 2 hours and 5 minutes, making it a conclusion akin to a full movie. This last chapter of the acclaimed Netflix series will air on December 31 and comes after a season that has kept fans on the edge of their seats with its dynamic storytelling and endearing characters.
Longer things
In comparison, the final episode of the fourth season had a duration of 2 hours and 19 minutes, making it a bit longer than the upcoming conclusion. Although fans may feel nostalgic about the end of the series, the anticipation for the finale is high. Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of Stranger Things, have been planning this ending for six or seven years, ensuring that from the first episodes they already knew what would happen in the last 40 minutes of the series.
Ross Duffer has expressed the pressures involved in determining how to close the story, although he has also clarified that they have been clear about the direction to take for a long time. To calm fans who fear it may not meet their expectations, both the actors and the production team have assured that the ending will fulfill what fans have been waiting for throughout the seasons.
Currently, the first four episodes of season 5 are already available on Netflix, while three more episodes will be released on Christmas Day, bringing the audience closer to the grand finale. With the promise of an exciting conclusion, fans of Stranger Things have several more moments to enjoy the final battle against the enemy Vecna and the forces of the Upside Down.
