Zack Snyder’s next project for Netflix is not Rebel Moon Part 3, although many suspect there will be a third part, as the story has been left open enough for it.
In fact, Snyder’s new production couldn’t be more different from his last film saga for Netflix. This one is called Twilight of the Gods, and it will be an animated series inspired by Norse mythology.
Fans of the filmmaker won’t have to wait long for The Twilight of the Gods to arrive on the world’s largest streaming service. Through Twitter, Snyder revealed yesterday (April 24) that the R-rated series will premiere on Netflix in late 2024. Oh, and he also unveiled a first image of his upcoming series, showcasing his magnificent artistic style.
It is true that it is not the first time we hear about The Twilight of the Gods. The television project, which will consist of eight episodes, was first announced in June 2021.
Since then, however, the details have been scarce. Now that we have a definitive release date for The Twilight of the Gods, fans can start the countdown for Snyder’s latest production for Netflix. And who knows? It may have enough to secure a spot on our list of best Netflix series if it’s, you know, really good.
What is Twilight of the Gods about and who else is involved?
Netflix has not yet released the synopsis of Twilight of the Gods. However, we expect to learn more about its plot at the Annecy Film Festival 2024, which takes place from June 9th to 15th.
According to Deadline, Snyder and Netflix will reveal more information about the adult animated series as part of the streaming giant’s extensive presence at the high-level entertainment industry event.
Until then, the only concrete details we have are those provided by Snyder in an interview with Collider in December 2023. “Basically, there is a king and his queen in a small Viking village, and they want to get married,” said Snyder.
The twist is that they experience an event at their wedding that causes Sigrid, who is the bride-to-be and the daughter of giants, to embark on a crazy revenge mission. We are so excited to see it on our television.
