Character.AI registered over 20 million users around the globe as of the beginning of 2024. However, there’s no official update on the exact number of users. Through the data shared by Similarweb and a recent interview with Noam Shazeer, CEO of Character.AI, we can draw a timeline of users visiting the platform.

In Q3 2024, more than 200 million people around the world visited Character.AI on a monthly basis. If we break down this data, the platform received 211.3 million visitors in June, 215.2 million in July and 200.8 in August of the same year.

The popularity of Character.AI, having millions of users distributed all over the word. According to the data acquired in Semrush, the top 5 countries using Character.AI, along with their traffic percentage are the United States (25.32%), the Philippines (7.60%), United Kingdom (4.64%), Indonesia (5.19%) and Brazil (4.52%).

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the results:

Character.AI showed a very successful performance reaching a revenue of $15.2 million during 2023. It is estimated that in 2024, the numbers will grow to $16.7 million, with a revenue per employee of $140.000. These figures highlight the startup’s successful business model as well as its appeal in the market.

It is also noteworthy that in August 2024, the Character.AI mobile app revenue reached $400K, $300K of it generated from the iOS app and $100K from the Android one. These numbers show the app’s strong performance and success in both mobile operating systems.
