Wuthering Waves just got its version 3.6 update today, Aug. 20, 2026. Kuro Games is calling it Lamplight in Mirage, Sword’s Resolve in Heart, and it brings in a new Mengzhou story chapter, two new 5-star characters, plus a round of combat and performance improvements.
This patch adds Qingxiao, an Aero sword user, and Jingran, a Fusion broadblade user, along with their signature weapons, Glint of Clouds and Thousandfold Deliverance. There’s also a new Calamity Effigy boss, the Tactical Hologram challenge Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis, and a pair of limited-time events: Resonance Sim Realm and If Dreams Still Reverberate.
The first wave of reaction has been pretty positive. Community guides went up fast, and some tier-list creators are already putting Qingxiao in the “T0” bracket. That said, those rankings will probably look a little different once players have had more time to test team comps and builds.
Kuro Games also says the update includes cross-platform performance optimizations tied to a new programming language, Nvidia DLSS 4.5 support on PC, and improved Echo equipment recommendations. If you play Wuthering Waves a lot, there’s a good reason to install this one sooner rather than later.
It comes right after version 3.5, keeping up the game’s steady post-launch rhythm. Wuthering Waves has also shown real staying power, with a 49,497 Steam peak on June 8, 2026, according to SteamDB, and more than $317.3 million in first-year mobile revenue, based on third-party mobile market estimates.
