Nintendo used its September 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct to unveil Kirby and The World Beyond, a new action-adventure for Nintendo Switch 2 starring everyone’s favorite pink vacuum. It’s a fully 3D game, and Nintendo says it’s set to arrive in Spring 2027.

The trailer fills in a little more than the announcement alone. Kirby gets pulled into a world beyond his own, King DeDeDe seems to be the one who helps kick the whole thing off, and Kirby isn’t traveling alone this time. He’s joined by a companion Nintendo still hasn’t identified.

From what Nintendo showed, this is a much bigger follow-up to Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The areas look wider and more layered, exploration seems a lot looser, and enough of it has that open-world feel that viewers were already calling it open-world-style before the Direct was even over. Copy abilities also look beefed up. One shot shows Kirby swinging an oversized sword that slices through enemies and even parts of the environment, opening hidden paths as he goes. In another quick moment, his silhouette looks a whole lot like Link from The Legend of Zelda, though Nintendo hasn’t said anything about a Zelda crossover.

If you were waiting for a bigger swing from the series before Kirby’s 35th anniversary rolls around in 2027, this looks like it might be it.

You can’t download Kirby and The World Beyond yet, but Nintendo has locked in a Spring 2027 release for Nintendo Switch 2.

Security firm Nebty says it has documented DoppelCart, a fake-shop network spread across 118,787 .shop domains. That works out to 2.72% of the .shop domains Nebty examined and, by Nebty’s count, makes it the largest fake-shop network ever publicly documented by number of domains.

Nebty says the sites mimic 44,182 brands by copying product catalogs, logos, and images. In some cases, they even pull photos from the real retailers’ own infrastructure. The median brand showed up twice in the network, while some were cloned more than 30 times.

The technical overlap is hard to miss. Nebty researchers said 96% of the confirmed shops used identical build files and traced back to just 27 backends. On the payment side, the checkout pages are built to grab card numbers , expiration dates, CVVs, billing details, and even one-time bank codes through WebSockets.

If you buy things online often, this matters. Nebty says the operators lean on the usual trust signals, HTTPS, polished branding, and discounts as high as 65%, to get shoppers to drop their guard.

By Nebty’s estimate, DoppelCart is already larger than BogusBazaar, which was tied to roughly 75,000 sites. Add in reports of a 790% year-over-year jump in fake online store scams in Q1 2025, plus 80,000 fake stores spotted during the 2024 holiday season, and the pattern looks pretty clear: automation is speeding this up.

So far, there’s no public attribution, no statement from law enforcement, and no public response from the .shop registry, though some takedowns have worked. The practical advice is simple enough: check the URL carefully, be skeptical of ads and sponsored links, search the domain along with words like “scam” or “reviews,” use payment methods that include buyer protection, and stop right away if a checkout you don’t recognize asks for extra verification.

Capcom has locked in a 16 October release date for three Resident Evil games on Nintendo Switch 2: 16 October: Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition, all as digital releases. The part Nintendo players will care about most is simple: these are native ports, not cloud versions like Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 were on the original Switch. It also marks the first time the modern Resident Evil 4 remake will be playable on Nintendo hardware.

These aren’t bare-bones releases, either. Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition comes with previously released DLC, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition Ada Wong’s Separate Ways. Capcom says physical editions are currently slated for 29 January 2027. If you’ve been holding off in the hope of playing these remakes locally on a Nintendo console, this is the update you’ve been waiting for, especially since Capcom’s remake run keeps delivering: Resident Evil 4 remake has reportedly 16.8 million copies and around $560 million, and the RE Engine looks like a strong fit for Nintendo Switch 2’s push to bring in more third-party games.

All three will be available to download from the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop on 16 October.

Godzilla was born in 1954 out of the fear that still lingered in Japan around all things nuclear after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Of course, it was a resounding success. So much so that the United States more or less forgot it was really their fault and full-blown blockbusters were made with the monster as the star. In the end, with the Monsterverse running at full tilt, it fell to Japan to remind us of what the character is really about in Godzilla Minus One and the new Godzilla Minus Zero.

Energy Ray!

Its new trailer is absolutely incredible, exactly what we love about the giant lizard’s movies. Obviously, the kaiju wasn’t totally destroyed in the first movie and will return to reunite with the characters from the first part, some new ones, along with the story’s main villain: King Ghidorah. And a good fight between the two giant monsters is always something worth seeing.

The film will take place only two years after Godzilla Minus One, in 1949, just after World War II: the perfect moment for the monster’s first appearance. It remains to be seen whether they’ll know how to make an allegory as powerful as they did in 2023, but given that the director, Yamazaki Takashi, is once again stepping behind the camera, we can expect one of the best kaiju movies.

Not only is it brutal and violent, but it’s also so spectacular that it’s Japan’s first film shot specifically for Imax (clearly aiming for international success, of course). It will open in Japan on November 3, and will reach cinemas around the world (including Spain) just 3 days later. Let’s see if, with any luck, it doesn’t gobble us up before we even get into the theater.

Who would’ve thought? After 29 years on the air and 338 episodes, South Park has come to an end. Goodbye, South Park… And hello, South America. For the new season of their immortal series, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have decided to take aim at Donald Trump and laugh their heads off at his absurd decisions (like calling Lake Ontario Lake America), backed by big companies.

Friendly faces everywhere

As the creators have announced, “Inspired by the courage and patriotism of Apple and Google, we’re going to change South Park’s title to South America. We especially want to thank our parent company, Paramount – a Skydance Company“. Ruled with an iron fist by the far-right billionaire David Ellison, South Park knows it’s untouchable and the only show that can laugh at this nonsense without repercussions. After all, it’s one of the few things that still still gets ratings.

On September 16 we’ll know what they have in store, but for now, on the promotional poster, Donald Trump appears in front of the rest of the characters after last season, very conspicuously, having an affair with Satan himself… something Satan was absolutely sick of. After all, he was repeating the toxic behavior of his ex-boyfriend, Saddam Hussein.

For those of us who’ve been following the series all these years, it’s only natural to be dying to know what they’ve done with this new season. After all, if last season they were the only ones who could stand up to the president and tie him in knots, in this one, with its future secured, they can only raise the stakes. Can’t wait to go back to Colorado.

In Hollywood there is an ever-growing divide because of AI. those who defend it as the future and those who reject it are opposing camps that don’t overlap and seem destined to clash. And everyone is choosing a side. No one seems to have a tepid opinion about it, opining bluntly on the topic of the moment. And Werner Herzog, an extremely opinionated director, has been no exception.

A director who doesn’t mince words

In an interview with Indiewire the director gave his opinion on AI in relation to About a Hero, a hybrid documentary that wanted to recreate the atmosphere of his films. On that he stated that “this young filmmaker’s intention was never to remake any (of my films), but to do something in that spirit. And I immediately said: ‘You’ll fail. It’s such a stupid idea. It’s phenomenally, abysmally stupid. I won’t take part in it’”.

But he hasn’t limited himself to giving his opinion on About a Hero, which he has called “a failure”. He has also spoken about AI in general. “It’s so standardized that AI can step in because there’s no real narrative. It’s an imitation of something that has already been done”. Doubling down, he said that he thinks it’s great that people use AI, but not for the reasons given by his colleagues who support it. “I think it’s great that AI replaces all the idiots who do nothing but repeat, repeat and repeat to the point of exhaustion. When it’s already ad nauseam, please, please, please, let AI step in and do the work”.

With an opinion this strong, Herzog clearly positions himself against AI, but also against the absence of creativity and artistic talent in today’s world. Something he has harshly criticized throughout his entire career. All this while he promotes his next film, Bucking Fastard, which will be screening at the Venice Film Festival in the coming days.

Amazon has had a turbulent history with OpenAI over the last year. Betting big on Luca Guadanigno’s new film, a Sam Altman biopic starring Andrew Garfield, everything seemed to be going smoothly. Then, in June Amazon announced that it would invest $50 billion in OpenAI. Then the film, which turned out to be very critical of the CEO of the company in which they had invested heavily, was no longer of interest to Amazon, and was canceled by the company itself.

A film rescued from oblivion

Despite all this turmoil, the film, Artificial, was bought by another production company, Neon, which is now releasing its first trailer. A very intriguing trailer that promises a spectacular performance from Garfield and that promises to make those who still believe Altman is a genius very uncomfortable. Or at least, not a tremendously questionable person.

Artificial will focus, specifically, on the days when Altman was fired and rehired as CEO of OpenAI. Very specific circumstances in which Guadanigno promises to explore not only the business and personal situation that led to it, but also Altman as a person. Far from grand, flattering portraits of Altman, seeking to truly portray the person behind the title of CEO.

The film is set for a Christmas release in the US after its run through the London and New York festivals, but it still doesn’t have a confirmed global release. So we’ll still have to wait a little longer to learn more about this film that looks set to get people talking for a long time.

Dave the Diver is one of the most popular games in recent years. Released in early access on October 27, 2022 on Steam, officially released on June 28, 2023, it has had subsequent releases on consoles and mobile platforms to great success. So much so that now its developers, MINTROCKET, are celebrating a success that is generally reserved for titles from major studios. It has reached 10 million copies sold.

A hit with critics and players, Dave the Diver perfectly fuses these two styles of play into an addictive gameplay loop that still feels fresh years later. Thanks in part to expansions and unique collaborations, such as its Godzilla crossover. That helps explain those ten million sales.

The United States government launched a new section earlier this week on the official White House website called, simply, arcade. It featured a series of video game clones, that offered political commentary in poor taste and echoed President Donald Trump’s ideology. Among these games was a Tetris clone, Build the Wall: Zombie Border Siege, which has sparked a strong backlash.

The Tetris Company Isn’t Happy

The Tetris Company has stated that they have not authorized any parody of their game, let alone one making a political statement. On their X account, the social network formerly known as Twitter, they posted a statement saying that “at Tetris we believe in the power of connection and in bringing people together, not dividing them. To all our fans everywhere: we love you, we see you, and we are grateful to have you in our community“. In doing so, they distanced themselves from the US government’s hateful messaging.

The game, Build the Wall: Zombie Border Siege, used classic Tetris gameplay. It consisted of stacking blocks, but with a different goal. Here, the goal was to build a wall to keep “aliens” from crossing the “southern border” and invading the country, in a not-so-subtle nod to President Trump’s policies.

All of this led the US government to remove the game from the White House page without issuing any statement or offering any explanation. Although it is no longer available, they have not said why they made this decision, so we do not know the exact reason they removed the game. But it seems that, after all, The Tetris Company got what they wanted: their game wouldn’t be used to spread hate.

Lanterns, the new Green Lantern series, is off to a strong start. Early reactions to the first episodes have been warm, and one reason keeps coming up: the show puts women at the center of the mystery instead of leaving them in the usual slots, support, love interest, or walking exposition for the male heroes.

Zoe Macon and Bernadette Stewart have their own motives, make their own choices, and deal with the fallout right alongside Hal Jordan and John Stewart. That pushes back against the superhero TV blind spot Poorna Jagannathan has described as a binary , where women matter in female-led projects but get pushed aside in male-led ones. Episode 4 makes that clearer than anything so far by revealing Zoe Macon as a Manhunter , shifting her from what looked like a secondary role into one of the story’s major moving parts.

That hits differently in a genre that’s been criticized for years for underrepresenting women, and for too often portraying them as emotional, less capable, or in need of rescue. It also stands out in DC’s screen history, which has too often kept its deeper female arcs for titles led by women. If you’re looking for a character-driven Green Lantern story, this looks worth watching, and you can catch Lanterns as the early episodes roll out. Still, the reaction so far seems to be coming mostly from the US, and the real test is whether can keep this up across a full season.
