Steam’s autumn sale ought to cool us down. Especially when, like this year, autumn has been a bit strange weather-wise. That’s why we’re going to help you with a great selection of the titles you shouldn’t miss. Some very popular, others more niche, all of them excellent and for every budget. These are the titles you shouldn’t miss and that we recommend. Let’s not waste time, let’s get to it!
Solasta: Crown of the Magister (€2.99 | 90% off)
If Baldur’s Gate 3 seemed excellent to you, but you miss a good classic-style isometric PC RPG with all the depth of the first two entries, then look no further. Solasta: Crown of the Magister does exactly that for an absolutely unbeatable price. It doesn’t have the most incredible story, but instead, it gives you a tremendously fun game that feels like a very well thought-out update of a classic style that isn’t made nearly as much anymore. And sometimes that’s all we need, especially for what costs little more than a coffee.
Monster Hunter Rise (€3.99 | -90%)
Maybe you’re still not into Monster Hunter, it catches your eye, but you can’t bring yourself to spend €40 or €60 on the game. That’s normal: it’s an intimidating franchise. But this makes it easy. For €4 you can play the penultimate game in the series and find out whether it’s for you or not and, if it is, easily sink 100 or 200 hours into it before you can say you’ve finished it. Even though it doesn’t include its expansion, Sunbreak, it doesn’t even need it to feel complete; that’s how deep and dense this game feels.
Celeste (€4.74 | 75% off)
One of the first indie games that really managed to explode into the mainstream, and for very good reasons. Celeste is a game that, if you want to play it casually, is fun, tender, and very interesting, but if you want to 100% it, it’s going to ask everything of you if you want to get the most out of it. Accessible, but at the same time really difficult if you want to squeeze it for all it’s worth, and with exquisite storytelling, art, and music, it’s a game you shouldn’t miss if you like platformers even the slightest bit and still haven’t played it.
Far Cry 6 (€5.99 | -90%)
One of Ubisoft’s best recent games and one of the best Far Crys. Even though a lot of people dismissed it, probably because of franchise fatigue and the company itself, Far Cry 6 is an outstanding entry in the franchise. With the best of open-world design, a strong story, and characters packed with personality, the franchise’s classic emergent gameplay is still present and as finely tuned as ever. Making this one of the best modern entries in the series.
Derelict Star (€6.40 | 20% off)
Even though this one is for the hardcore, it’s one of those games that has to be here. Derelict Star is a very demanding precision platformer, with charming pixel art, that demands one very specific thing: pixel-perfect jumps. Tremendously demanding, it’s not a game for the vast majority of people, but those who enjoy perfectly calculated jumps and difficulty bordering on cruelty will find a real treat in Derelict Star.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (€9.99 | -75%)

With the third entry on the horizon, it’s time to champion the Final Fantasy VII remakes. And although we’ve chosen the first because it’s at an unbeatable price, the second isn’t much more expensive: just €5 more. That’s why, now that we’re barely six months away from its third and final entry (as far as we know: there’s always room for one more DLC), it’s the perfect time not just to buy them, but to play them. Because if you don’t catch up now, when?
Marathon (€23.99 | 40% off)
It hasn’t been the huge success they were expecting at Sony or Bungie, but it’s very far from being the disaster some people say it is. Marathon is a fascinating game with a very passionate audience. What’s more, Bungie is determined to smooth out its rough edges by introducing all kinds of modes so they can reach a much broader audience. If it makes you curious, but the price was putting you off, now’s the time to take the plunge: at a much more reasonable price—almost half off—, it’s a good chance to see whether it really was that bad. Or that good.
Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut (€35.99 | -40%)

Speaking of Sony, the latest big first-party game to come to PC and, apparently, one of the last to do so, has had a good bite taken out of its price. Ghost of Tsushima is an evocative game that has its own take on the open world, much more poetic and calm, focusing more on the story and the journey than on exploration and ticking icons off the map. Even though the price is still high, Sony’s first-party games don’t really drop much anymore, so it’s a golden opportunity to buy it if you’re interested. And believe us: it’s worth it.
