Diablo 4 won’t share the same monetization tactics as Diablo Immortal

Fans of the popular Diablo franchise from Blizzard Entertainment eagerly awaited the first mobile version of the game, Diablo Immortal. However, since its launch, the mobile game hasn’t received a lot of praise from fans, mostly due to the scummy monetization. This is leaving fans unsure about the release of Diablo 4 in 2023.

Diablo fans have been very excited about the next release in the franchise; however, the recent release of the mobile game Diablo Immortal leaves many with a bitter taste in their mouths. This has led the Head of Diablo at Blizzard, Rod Ferguson, to make an announcement regarding the release of Diablo 4.

Diablo Immortal currently has the lowest user score of all time on Metacritic. This is largely due to the complaints players have about the many shady microtransactions required to play and enjoy the game. Rod Ferguson is trying to convince fans that Diablo 4 will be different.

The developers released the latest trailer of Diablo 4 at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. Along with the trailer, Rod Ferguson also made a statement informing fans that Diablo 4 will be a full-price game for PC and consoles. He also said that they aim to produce a lot of new content for Diablo 4 for years to come. While there will be optional cosmetic items that can be purchased additionally, Diablo 4 isn’t designed the same way mobile games are. After the initial purchase, you don’t need to spend additional money to play and enjoy the game.

Along with the trailer that sheds more light on different environments and gameplay, they also announced the fifth and final character class available at launch – the Necromancer. The Necromancer will join the other four classes, Barbarian, Druid, Rogue and Sorcerer, providing players with many options for different playing styles.

We continue to look forward to the release of Diablo 4 next year. We are thrilled with the confirmation that it won’t be using the same monetization tactics as Diablo Immortal.
