Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced arrives on July 9, 2026. Ubisoft says this isn’t simply Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag with sharper textures slapped on top. Along with a full remake, the publisher has confirmed shipboard pets for the Jackdaw, including a cat and a monkey, plus wider visual and gameplay upgrades. Early footage shows the monkey swinging from the ropes during boarding sequences. Ubisoft’s promo material also hints at at least some customization, since one of the pets is wearing a waistcoat instead of just sitting there as set dressing.
Ubisoft says the remake is built on the latest version of its Anvil engine and will include ray tracing, dynamic weather, and reworked combat and stealth systems. Some basic questions are still hanging, though. Ubisoft hasn’t said how pets are unlocked, whether you can keep more than one on board at once, how many animal types will make it into the final game, or whether they do anything beyond making the ship feel more alive.
If you’ve been looking for a reason to head back to the Caribbean, this is a pretty easy sell. It sounds a lot closer to a real reworking than a standard remaster. Ubisoft says the game is coming to PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, with Ubisoft Singapore leading development.
