The Immortal Man, written by Steven Knight, the creator of the series, and directed by Tom Harper, explores the relationship between Thomas Shelby and his son Duke, played by Barry Keoghan.
As Duke takes charge of the Peaky Blinders, Thomas faces a series of circumstances that force him to leave his retirement and confront his turbulent past. The film promises to close the story of the iconic character in a context marked by World War II, something Knight had envisioned since the beginning of the series.
Cillian Murphy, who recently won an Oscar for his performance in Oppenheimer, reflected in a press conference on his experience portraying Thomas Shelby. “You have lived alongside him and you have also aged alongside him. That is something unique,” said the actor, acknowledging the impact of his role on his career.
