Copilot continues to conquer spaces: Microsoft Teams welcomes it by eliminating Chat 365

Microsoft Copilot continues to gain ground within the company. The Chat 365, present in Microsoft Teams enterprise accounts that have active Microsoft 365 subscription, becomes Copilot, in a new move that aims to further increase the weight of Artificial Intelligence branding within Microsoft itself.

The Copilot service was already integrated as an assistant within Teams, but with the rebranding to Chat 365, this name gains more weight within the application, thus revealing the brand’s strong interest in highlighting its Artificial Intelligence.

Copilot replaces Teams’ Chat 365

This change, announced in the official Microsoft blog, means that Chat 365 ceases to exist as such and will be renamed Copilot, thus unifying in a single brand the AI-based services that Microsoft offers in its different applications. In addition to that, they have also implemented various improvements with the aim of continuing to enhance the functionalities previously offered by Chat 365.

The main improvements are, in particular:

  • Possibility to take a look at the chat history with Copilot within Teams.
  • Access to the library of commands available through Copilot Lab.
  • General improvement of the commands, expanding the coverage of the service and the possibilities it offers.

Copilot, the axis of branding

With this new move, it can be appreciated the interest that Microsoft has in giving more and more prominence to Copilot, its generative AI. In fact, it is not the first service that goes through a rebranding that eliminates its original name, since in recent months Bing Chat was also eliminated as such to offer the same services through Microsoft Copilot. With this, the company continues to want to unify its services under a more catchy name.

In fact, Copilot has already colonized most of Microsoft’s main services. It can be seen in services like Teams, not only as a chat, but also as an assistant to summarize content, and even capable of assisting in meetings or video calls by the user. Also in Outlook, to offer support and assistance for email management. And, of course, also in Edge, where one of its main interfaces is located.
