Have you already killed many radroaches? The highlight of the new patch for Fallout 4 is the new “objective frame rate” option, which now allows you to choose between 30, 40, and 60 fps (by default). As Bethesda points out, to choose the 40 fps option, your screen must support 120 Hz. You can also choose whether to prioritize graphics or performance while maintaining the desired frame rate, with the “performance” option being recommended for 60 fps.

The patch also includes other fixes, including general stability improvements, some bug fixes, the reactivation of automatic HDR on Xbox Series X/S, and much more. Here is the full list of fixes:

Screen Configuration for Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5

After reading your comments, we have decided to incorporate the option to adjust graphic fidelity or performance. Although our recommendation will always be to use the default settings, now you will have the possibility to better adapt it to your gaming style and screen.

Frame rate

This option allows you to choose between 30, 40, and 60 (default). Remember that your screen must have a refresh rate of 120 Hz if you select the 40 option.

Graphic Fidelity or Performance

Now, you can choose between graphic fidelity or performance (by default) when trying to maintain the desired frame rate. If you choose 60, we recommend selecting the performance option. It is possible that both modes will dynamically adjust with more demanding scenes or action sequences. These modes can only be modified from the main menu.
