Google’s digital wardrobe finally comes to the iPhone: this is how we can try on clothes without touching them

Following its arrival on Android, Google Photos‘ Wardrobe feature is now available on iOS in the United States, India, and Brazil. Thanks to artificial intelligence, we can now use our photos to create an automatically organized digital wardrobe and see how different clothing combinations would look on us before getting dressed.

Google Photos analyzes our photo library, recognizes the clothes we’re wearing across our photos, and gathers them into a Wardrobe section within Collections. We can filter by shirts, pants, and other clothing items, combine them, and create complete outfits. Once that’s done, we can save them to a moodboard or even send them to our friends.

How to use the Wardrobe feature on our iPhone

Best of all, we can virtually try those combinations on. If our account is in a supported region, accessing the wardrobe is really simple. The whole process happens right inside the Google Photos app on our iPhone. Here are the steps:

  • We open the Google Photos app.
  • We go into the Collections section.
  • We tap on Wardrobe.
  • We choose and combine the garments.
  • We tap the virtual try-on option.
  • If we want, we save the result or send it.

While we wait for a wider rollout, it’s clear that Google is increasingly interested in bringing Gemini to the iPhone. Meta Muse, meanwhile, is making headway in the field of AI. We’ll see what other surprises artificial intelligence has in store for us.
