Rockstar Games has recently released GTA 5 Enhanced for PC, an improved version that arrives more than ten years after the original release. This new release had also previously been available on next-gen consoles, such as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which has sparked the interest of fans of the series on the PC platform. On its first day on Steam, the game reached over 187,000 concurrent players, partly driven by the offer of a free upgrade for those who already owned a copy of the original version.
An improved edition with too many problems
Despite the influx of players, the critical reception has been mixed. So far, only 53% of reviews on Steam are positive, which has led to the title being labeled as ‘Mixed’. Users have expressed dissatisfaction due to various technical and performance issues, as well as shortcomings in graphical improvements. Additionally, some players have had difficulties migrating their existing accounts, which has complicated the initial experience for many.
Another point of frustration for fans is the persistent lack of news about the highly anticipated sequel, GTA 6, which has fueled uncertainty in the community. Additionally, it has been reported that the new edition is limited to 120 FPS, unlike the original version, which was known as GTA V Legacy.
In a new development for PC players, GTA+ has also been launched on Steam, allowing subscribers to access exclusive rewards for GTA Online, as well as a rotating selection of classic Rockstar Games. Some of these titles include Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire, and Bully: Scholarship Edition, expanding the offerings for the gaming community on this platform.
