GTA Online not only refuses to die, but also to stop growing. Generating interest and apathy in equal parts at its launch, like GTA V, the online version of the game seems immortal. That’s why we’re not surprised that, for the summer, they have decided to release a new content update to keep us entertained. Even if that means putting us on the other side of the law.
Focusing on law and order aspects, GTA Online will allow us, for the first time, to be the ones to put an end to crime on the streets. The biggest novelty will be that we can create bounty hunter groups in San Andreas, establishing a business of hunting criminals throughout the city. Undoubtedly, this will give a special flavor to the game servers, including role-playing ones.
But it doesn’t end there. In addition to combining cosmetics and law enforcement, they will also introduce new police missions. Vincent, a recently added character, will provide us with these missions, as he will need help enforcing his authority without internal affairs asking questions afterward. A perfect role for the average GTA Online player.
All this will have to include numerous quality-of-life improvements, as well as modes for content creators within the game. This last one is especially interesting, as it will add the possibility of creating different types of races in the creation tools.
All this should keep us entertained while we learn more about GTA VI. While Geoff Keighley has stated that we shouldn’t expect any news about it during the Summer Game Fest, that doesn’t mean there can’t be new news outside of his event. This new update will arrive at some point this month, still unannounced. GTA VI will be released at some point in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
