The Artificial Intelligence has been threatening content creators with stealing their work since chat and image generators became popular. This ranges from scriptwriters, who even went on strike for this and other reasons, to illustrators. Therefore, it is frightening to hear the word AI next to “streaming platform.” But Amazon Prime Video has just added its use in a surprisingly ethical way.

A new milestone in AI
As explained by Amazon Prime Video, the idea is for people to catch up “without wasting time or risking seeing spoilers.” Thanks to this feature, you can watch summaries of an entire series, whole seasons, episodes, or even fragments. So it can also be useful, for example, to remember where you left off in a specific series or movie.

X-Ray Recaps operates with Amazon Bedrock technology, which is a service from Amazon Web Service that works to create and optimize generative AI applications with foundational models, as well as with custom AI trained on Amazon SageMake.
For now, this beta feature has been launched only in the United States, as a test to see how it works. After the necessary testing and optimizations, it is expected to be rolled out to everyone with Prime Video.
